The time commitment required to be part of the Dental Mentor Teacher Advisory Group is flexible and designed to fit around your existing commitments. We understand that educators have busy schedules and that your time is valuable. The virtual group meetings take place once a month and typically last around 1-2 hours. During these meetings, members of the group are asked to review specific programs and provide feedback and recommendations for new ones. We also encourage ongoing communication and collaboration between members through various online platforms, which provides further opportunities to contribute and share ideas. Overall, we aim to make participation in the Teacher Advisory Group as manageable and rewarding as possible, while ensuring that the insights and expertise of our members are effectively utilized in creating high-quality resources for aspiring dental students.

The Dental Mentor Teacher Advisory Group offers a range of roles to suit the interests and expertise of its members. Some of the roles available within the group include:

2. Resource Creators: These members work to develop and create new educational resources supported by our dentists and talented hub staff.  Resources might include lesson plans, activities, and assessments, that support students in their journey to becoming dentists, for example.

3. Events Coordinators: These members work to plan and coordinate free events that are funded by Dental Mentor, such as webinars, workshops, and conferences, that provide opportunities for students and fellow teachers to learn more about dentistry and gain valuable experience.

4. Outreach Ambassadors: These members help to promote Dental Mentor and its mission to schools, colleges, and universities across the country, encouraging more students to pursue a career in dentistry.

5. Student Mentors: These members work directly with students, providing mentorship and support as they navigate the challenges of preparing for a career in dentistry.

The Teacher Advisory Group at Dental Mentor is a voluntary role and does not provide any form of payment or compensation. Members of the group contribute their time and expertise on a voluntary basis, motivated by a shared passion for supporting aspiring dental students and improving dental education. While the role is unpaid, it provides an opportunity to collaborate with like-minded educators, gain new skills and knowledge, and make a real difference in the lives of young people.
