The length of each study group depends on the Chemistry or Biology module you choose. Each module covers the two years A-Level content.  So our programme can help you to revise and cover the entire year 10 & 11 or 12 & 13 chemistry and biology curriculum in just 1 academic year – or you can spread it over 2 years if you like!  Here is a breakdown of the length of each subject module and study group:

Chemistry:

Physical (7 weeks)

Organic (7 weeks) 

Inorganic (3 weeks)

Biology:

Cells, biodiversity, evolution and disease (7 weeks)

Exchange, transport, communication, homeostasis and energy (7 weeks)

Genetics, evolution and ecosystems (4 weeks)

Please note that you will be provided with an exam board specific timetable once you have registered for a study group that covers all of the specifications for the exam board you are preparing for.  Our study groups have been designed to be fully comprehensive and cover all of the exam board specifications!

Students will receive a daily Zoom link to attend virtual sessions, lasting from Chemistry: 5:45-7:15pm, Biology: 7:30-9pm UK GMT, every Monday to Friday. These sessions will cover different topics within each module each day. Once the tutor concludes the teaching, students will spend 30 minutes working on test questions, word puzzles, and flashcards to strengthen their understanding.

If any questions persist, students can stay on the Zoom link, which will remain open for group questions until 7:15pm Chemistry, 9pm Biology UK GMT. This setup offers students up to 1 and a half hours of instruction per evening. However, if they’re satisfied with their questions being answered in 30 minutes or an hour, they can leave earlier. We provide this flexibility to cater to the varied needs of our students. While most students may grasp the day’s topic in an hour, others might require more time.

For those who can’t attend a session, don’t worry. All sessions are recorded, allowing you to access the teaching videos whenever it suits you.

Yes!

It is possible to participate in more than one study group at once and for some of us that’s the best way to learn.  If you are in year 13 now and you are doing both Chemistry and Biology, you will find it difficult to complete the whole curriculum for both subjects in one year if you are only attending one study group at a time.  So just like you have to do multiple subjects at school for your A-levels, you can participate in multiple study groups too!

How does this work?

You will be given a detailed timetable once you have enrolled onto a module.  You will clearly be able to see which topic is taught on which day.  Star the topics on each timetable that you are most worried about, and attend the LIVE teaching session for the ones that you are weakest in. All of the teaching sessions are recorded too, so you can catch up by watching the recording of the LIVE session that you missed the following day.

This way you can attend the LIVE teaching sessions for the topics that you are really struggling with, but still follow the teaching and the resources for both programmes.

This is a great way to do a little bit of both Chemistry and Biology consistently throughout the week!
